There’s a huge resource of articles on psychic-related subjects to be found on http://www.globalpsychics.com and I was browsing around the site today and found a particular article that may well be of interest to many people reading this blog. Written by Mary-Anne Alvaro and entitled “The Value of Developing Your Psychic Abilities”, this article straight away refutes the idea that being psychic will enable us to know of things to come. Mary goes on to say :-

So, what’s the point?  Well, I truly believe we are wise to develop this natural sense to as great an extent as possible.  But I also truly believe we are wise to stay humble and to recognize that for whatever reasons (our own filters and blocks - the “rules of engagement” when we come to planet earth etc.) we will not be given to “see everything” and know everything. I no longer question why - I simply accept what does come and what doesn’t. Using 9/11 as an example, I can’t help but wonder what value in our world it would have had for someone to have been given a clear view of this incident.  Would anyone with that view have been able to do anything about it?  Would anyone have believed that person?  Not likely.

I see the Bangor Daily News has posted a new article on it’s Lifestyle & Arts page today commemorating a tragic event 100 years ago and the mystery surrounding the psychic claims of the time.

On 12th June 1906, four students of the Brewer High School were drowned on Brewer Lake which was then known as Hymes Pond. It was a tragic boating accident that brought huge sadness to their families and the community. To quote from the article, things developed thus :-

This tragedy would have been forgotten long ago had it not been for a strange event that occurred the next day in an Old Town hotel 18 miles away. Over the noon meal, Henry T. Sparks, superintendent of the Brewer Public Works Department, was describing to Samuel D. Crocker, proprietor of the Crocker Hotel, about where searchers thought the bodies might be located in the pond.

Suddenly, at a table some 15 or 20 feet away, Crocker’s wife was observed to have gone into a trance. With tears streaming down her face, speaking in a “constrained and very peculiar voice,” she described where the boat was lying on top of one of the boys “in a great boiling spring” spewing forth sand, and where the other bodies were located at the bottom of the lake. Mrs. Crocker’s vision turned out to be generally accurate, although it was of no help to the searchers who found the sailboat and the bodies around 2 p.m. before the information had reached the pond.

Local historian Fannie Hardy Eckstorm investigated this strange case of clairvoyance on behalf of her college alma mater professor H Gardiner. Frustratingly, Eckstorm was unable to complete the investigation and left Gardiner pondering the question of whether this was truly a case of some extraordinairy clairvoyance or simply a coincidence.

Sounds a bit kooky, eh ? Not so ! I was reading an article written by Sarvananda Bluestone today on the Beliefnet website and was very interested to read her theories and philosophies on our psychic abilities. Sarvananda explains that psychic abilities “can offer insight, clarity, and fun. Especially because when we exercise our intuition, we engage the imagination in such a full and wonderful way”.

The article goes on to describe how to create the right environment to enable your intuitions to come out and to tune into the sounds around you. As we move on, we’re taught how to delve deeper and to eventually focus on a material object such as our car or household appliances. More than once before we’ve looked at articles that pinpoint dodgy psychics as it is a bit of a minefield out there. There’s more assistance on offer on the Circle Of Light website and I feel many of you would want to share in it. The aim here is to avoid those who want your money rather than give you good advice. There are some good examples of things to watch out for and a really excellent list of do’s and don’ts.

It should be added here that this website is not just offering good advice but that they are trying to sell a service of their own. However that shouldn’t allow you to be put off as you can simply take the advice and move on to something else ! A very interesting thread can be found on The Psychics & Mediums Network forum written by contributor ‘Blackheart’. This person is an empath and is having some real difficulties trying to break the connection after carrying out their professional work. The impact of this is the continuing reception of emotions coming forth from a person who is going through a difficult time and their transmission is having a negative effect on the contributor. Thankfully for ‘Blackheart’ some constructive advice is posted by others while someone with a similar problem also pools in their experience too.
